Chicken Tandoori is a classic dish full of bold, smoky flavors that transport you to the heart of Indian cuisine. With Bold Food Crate Tandoori Seasoning, this recipe makes it easy to recreate authentic tandoori flavors at home. Perfectly spiced and juicy, this chicken is great for family dinners, gatherings, or meal prep. Pair it with Basmati rice or naan for a complete meal.

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Separate the chicken legs, cut them in half, or leave them whole. Wash the chicken thoroughly and place it in a large bowl.

  2. Marinate the Chicken: Add yogurt, Bold Food Crate Tandoori Seasoning, lemon juice, and salt to the chicken. Mix everything until the chicken is evenly coated with the marinade.

  3. Pre-Cook on Stove: Transfer the marinated chicken to a pot and cook on medium-high heat for about 20 minutes, or until all the juice evaporates. If the liquid evaporates before 20 minutes, add 1/4 cup of water to ensure the chicken cooks thoroughly. Once all the liquid evaporates, remove the pot from heat and allow the chicken to cool.

  4. Prepare for Baking: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Drizzle oil over the chicken and mix well to coat. Place the chicken on an oven rack, ensuring a sheet pan is positioned below the rack to catch any drippings.

  5. Bake the Chicken: Bake the chicken for 30 minutes at 375°F.

  6. Prepare and Add Onion: Peel the red onion and slice it crosswise into 1/2-inch rings, keeping the rings intact. Brush the onion slices with the remaining marinade and place them on top of the chicken. Bake for an additional 5 minutes.

  7. Serve: Transfer the chicken and onion to a serving platter and enjoy your flavorful Chicken Tandoori!

Tips: Serve with Basmati rice, naan, or a fresh side salad for a complete meal. For extra flavor, marinate the chicken for 1-2 hours or overnight before cooking.
